About

The woman who finds the women

Jill George

Jill George writes women back into the record.

A historian, novelist, and coach, Jill is the founder of Heinze Quill Publishing and the author of eight books of historical fiction and creative nonfiction that recover remarkable women history filed under someone else’s name — from Elizabeth Carne of Cornwall to Arabella Buckley in Darwin’s London.

Her work turns deep archival research into scenes a reader can live inside: real stories of resilience, of partnerships across gender and race, and of the unyielding pursuit of truth. An award finalist, she now teaches other writers and coaches them to do the same — to take what the archive gives and make it move.

She is currently chasing a manuscript that shouldn’t exist. You can come along at Historically Hers.
